Dead wood is dead good!

Dead wood is an integral part of any natural woodland or freshwater ecosystem, but it has become increasingly rare in managed landscapes.

Nature can create leaky dams in woodland if given the chance. They are a haven for wildlife.

Sand martins just arrived on the upper Severn from their long journey from Africa (south of the Sahara). Superb flying ability even in strong winds today!

A superb walk on Pumlumon today. Not been there for a bit. Source of the Wye and Severn, summits and valleys and a lot of water (among much else)!

Taith fendigedig i ardal Pumlumon heddiw. Heb fod yno ers dipyn. Tarddiad yr afonydd Gwy a Hafren, copaon a dyffrynoedd a llawer iawn o ddŵr (ymysg nifer o bethau eraill)!
