@DontSayProvider

Dedicated to helping all Physicians fix this mess. And yes, I'm a real MD in private practice. My views are those shared by healers, not providers.

Hospital CEOs:

If your note to physicians on begins “Dear Providers” then you are doing it wrong!

How can they be so tone deaf?

Make sure you stand up and correct anyone that calls you a “provider!”

Doctor≠Provider 'Provider' is intentionally part of the $4 Trillion power game by hospitals + insurance companies. All part of a culture of disrespect!

: 'This is an example of how poorly written laws can end up hurting the persons they are designed to protect — in this case the patient, and further, cause damage to our healthcare workers and workplaces. It's a potential 'road to ruin' for the practicing healthcare…

Unfortunately quite a few health care executives seem to share this particular tone deafness. They’ll learn! One hopes, as institutions go sideways, they’ll find a safe landing spot.

Doctor≠Provider Just a reminder..PROVIDER is an insurance term derived to maximize billing by obfuscating the actual education and capability of those hired to deliver care! Its a huge scam and all the profiteers are winners..Patients are losers.

Small town ERs are different.

this evening I saw something I didn't know happened.

When I got to the ER for my shift, I was told about the patients in the ED, and that one room had a patient who had expired, waiting on the funeral home, along with the ones I can potentially…

Increase in Medicare payment from 2008-2023:

Surgeons: 0.98%
Hospitals: 35.8%

This is directly related to the disparity in lobbying capabilities and to a lesser extent public perception.

More than 100,000 doctors have left private practice to become employees of hospitals & corporate entities since 2019. Today, nearly three in four physicians are employees of larger health care entities or other corporations — a record high. statnews.com/2024/02/15/ind… via STAT

It’s time to call out UnitedHealthcare for simply awful peer-to-peer. A “peer” did not approve sinus surgery for this patient with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyposis. (And OSA, can’t use his CPAP). Unacceptable. Clearly their process is flawed. (Shared w/permission)

He’s talking about surgeons and instead says “providers.” His heart is in the right place. But even his language has been polluted by the system.

It’s ok to say “physician” and “surgeon” when you want to!

Dear @aetna

My patients woke up January 1st, 2024 with the same cancers they had December 31st, 2023

I also gave you notice as to which treatments should extend into this year

Let’s end the delays of “re-approving” what was already working for people with little time to wait
