Rarely, if ever have I seen such ignorance about a complex issue communicated with such arrogance and certainty. It's obvious that Suella Braverman MP knows nothing of the causation and maintenance of homelessness and truly lacks any sense of compassion for those who are suffering.

Thing is, trauma can be traumatic. For those whose experiences express themselves in ways that are then experienced by others as traumatic, little concern is evoked, and the risk of reenactment becomes very high. I don’t think the power of these dynamics can be underestimated.

One of the most worrying aspects about Suella Braverman MP’s uninformed, inaccurate and deeply unhelpful comments on homelessness is her, and the Govt’s, complete inability to recognise and respond to those who might actually be informed. And then apologise.

I’m using this in my next teaching session on splitting and projection. So class, who do you think she is REEEALLY talking about?
