An unforgettable evening on board RoyalYacht Britannia to round off a truly wonderful Scottish tour. Thank you so much Alison Weir for having me (and Dr Nicola Tallis for the photo!) 🏴
What a great way to kick off the Flowers of Scotland tour, with a private tour of the Palace of Holyroodhouse last night. Everyone was in their element, especially Tracy Borman & I! 🥂 #AWT24 #tourantics

I’m so sad to hear of the death of C.J. Samson. His Shardlake novels are wonderful and his kindness to the The Mary Rose was great. Here’s a fitting tribute to him by former Chair of the Mary Rose, Rear Admiral John Lippiett: maryrose.org/news/c-j-sanso…
Wishing my dear, darling friend, Dr Nicola Tallis, the happiest of birthdays. Not only is she the most brilliant and exciting historian, but she is the most magical friend. Love you lots and lots 💜
Just two weeks left to register for ‘The Fall of #AnneBoleyn ’. Over seven lectures and a live Q&A, Natalie Grueninger and I will be forensically examining why Anne Boleyn fell so brutally in May 1536. Check out the following link for more information: onthetudortrail.com/Blog/2024/03/0…
I had so much fun filming with JJ Chalmers at Hever Castle for a brand new series about an altogether different castle. Can you guess which one?? 🧐 Tune in to Channel 5 at 8.50pm tonight (UK) to find out! LionTelevision

Thrilled to be headed to Canterbury to take part in this series of talks with so many wonderful people including Alison Norton and Prof Janina Ramirez
When Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat, was beheaded on Tower Hill The Tower of London, a viewing stand collapsed killing spectators. Lovat’s laughter at their fate may be the origin of the phrase ‘laugh your head off’. This block Royal Armouries bears scars of his execution.
