Participating in an event organized by ForumFisheriesAgency "Enhancing Social and Economic Benefits from Sustainable Fisheries" Prime Minister of Tonga 🇹🇴 Hu'akavameiliku opened the event stressing the importance of fisheries for the sustainable development of the Pacific.

In the meeting with young people and civil society from Tonga we discussed gender equality, education and future prospects of young generation in Pacific Islands. I’m glad that the EU Youth Sounding Board for the Pacific will be established in the near future.

Today in Tonga I visited an EU funded project that aims to provide a healthy living environment for everyone. It offers accessible sanitation and hygiene facilities to most vulnerable households. There’s still work to do to ensure people have basic needs everywhere in the world.
