'Labour is winning in Rishi Sunak's back yard' is now true whether you take that to mean North Yorkshire, Southampton or Westminster. Not California, though.

.Keir Starmer has changed the Labour Party and is *persuading* voters to put their trust in Labour again. Quite a symbolic result to show how far Labour has come with his leadership this πŸ‘‡

Brilliant idea by Ed Dorrell and Jonathan Simons to bring together a bunch of edu policy people to hang out on the first transition-out-of-winter evening of the year πŸŽ‰πŸΎ
(Also as an aside, really like how this pic looks like Ed is singing a song and Jon is quietly impressed)

This story is a perfect example of why the govt is so knackered in the polls.

Even those who support the Rwanda policy - I don't - will come to associate it with rank incompetence.

Within days, we'll hear in focus groups: 'They can't even find the people to put on the planes'

I really enjoyed my new EDSK podcast with Dr Sally Burtonshaw and MsEmilyHunt about pupil absence rates in England, but it's worth noting that this problem is being felt all around the world.

Listen to Sally and Emily's insights here:

β€˜The Labour party is now a serious party of government, and it’s one in which I and the British public can put our trust.’

It’s time for change 🌹

This remains one of the most important educational successes of the last few decades, but suspect it doesn't attract national media attention because (i) it is down to FE colleges (ii) the sector focuses on the policy downsides to the point it drowns out this massive improvement
