आज जब २१वीं सदी में भारत की एक नयी पहचान बन रही है, ऐसे कालखंड में सरदार पटेल जी के योगदान को बार-बार याद करना और भी महत्वपूर्ण हो जाता है।

इससे हमारे देश का भविष्य सुरक्षित रहेगा और नयी पीढ़ी भी सरदार पटेल जैसे महानुभाव के जीवन और राष्ट्रहित के संकल्प से प्रेरणा ले सकेंगे।

#AmritMahotsav के विशिष्ट काल और आज #RashtriyaEktaDiwas के अवसर पर मेरा आग्रह है कि University of Delhi सरदार पटेल की भूमिका, उनके नेतृत्व और इच्छाशक्ति पर चर्चाओं को आगे बढ़ाए ताकि हमारी आने वाली पीढ़ियां राष्ट्र की एकता, अखंडता और प्रगति के लिए उनके योगदान को जान सकें।

सरदार न होते तो भारत का आज का यह स्वरूप न होता।सरदार पटेल का योगदान सिर्फ भारत को आजादी दिलाने तक ही सीमित नहीं था, विभिन्न राजशाही को भारत में विलय कर उन्होंने एक मजबूत राष्ट्र के निर्माण में प्रखर भूमिका निभाई।

देश में सहकारिता को नया आयाम देने में भी उनका बड़ा योगदान था।

#RashtriyaEktaDiwas के पुनीत अवसर पर आज University of Delhi में #Run4Unity को flag-off करने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ।

आजादी के बाद देश को एकजुट करने और आज के भारत के एकीकृत रूप को बनाने में सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल जी के लौह इरादों, राजनीतिक इच्छाशक्ति और नेतृत्व क्षमता का अतुलनीय योगदान है।
