You know that feeling when you only have a chapter left in a book & you are already bereft at the thought of finishing it? I'm immersed in Georgian Edinburgh with Elizabeth & Belle in the Fair Botanists but also still carrying Ellory & Charlotte in my ❤️ Sara Sheridan

What a non story. Hansard asks the same at Westminster for the official record. I provide my speaking notes but regularly change what I say depending on what is emerging during debate via interventions/ contributions. What is the point of this non-exclusive "exclusive" story 🤔

Déjà vu anyone? Starmer giving heavy Osborne licks here. Promised jam but delivering cod liver oil with the biggest doses reserved for the poorest. Neoliberalism writ large. The "worse than thought" BS not washing when SNP put £18-20bn blackhole front & centre during election.

🗣️ Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar promised voters: “Read my lips - no austerity under Labour” 📣 After the election, Labour announced billions of pounds of cuts, “short-term pain”, and promised “things will get worse”. 🥀 In other words, austerity under Labour.

We've released a new report, A Window of Opportunity, examining people's routes into homelessness and what could have been done to prevent it happening. We found that the warning signs that someone is at risk of homelessness are often missed. Full report: crisis.org.uk/ending-homeles…

A reminder that the Labour Party in Scotland wanted tax cuts this year that would have disproportionately benefited the highest earners and reduced money available for public services by up to £1.5 billion while simultaneously demanding increased public spending.

Great to catch up Ant Lehane Always a pleasure to discuss all things social justice with Cranstoun and to really explore the increasing harm we are seeing. It's important to pursue this relentlessly and with an open mind and heart

Echoes of my own despair & hope in this blog from Kirsten Horsburgh We must move at pace & deliver what we know works. Extensive harm reduction rooted in meeting folk where they are at & empowering them to find their route. We must ensure ALL routes are paved & ready for them. #IOAD

So glad to see this second Aberlour Children's Charity Mother & Child Recovery House open 💜 when I visited the first as Minister, I was filled with hope and the firm belief we need to have many more! Immediately felt the tangible connections being made and saw the support & kindness on offer.
