Chinese who left Tibet by car were wealthy ones -most migrant workers probably went by bus or train. This video apparently shows Chinese migrant workers who made it from Lhasa to Chengdu but are stranded in Chengdu today -their hometowns/villages are refusing to accept them back.

China grew spectacularly because of massive government-led investment in much needed infrastructure, suppressed wages and workers' rights, and severely repressed financing costs. It is not at all surprising that under those conditions the private sector thrived.

Its almost as if the rise of far-right fascist politics in the United States, the concentration of power in non-elected individuals, and the PRC's interests are perhaps connected 🧐
