I'm delighted that Trades Union Congress has today published its draft bill regulating the use of in the workplace, building on the work of its AI taskforce.

Thanks in particular to Mary Towers without whom this would never have happened.

Next step - making it law!

This is absolutely wonderful news.

Birkenhead owes a massive debt of gratitude to SavingRonsPlace and Martin Wallace for all of their hard work in helping to protect this site.

For years, I've been supporting efforts to deliver a new market that meets the needs of Birkenhead, its people, and local traders.

The council officers' latest proposals would be an absolute disaster. It's time to pull back and have a major rethink.

More than ninety years on from the Kinder Scout mass trespass - a key moment in the fight for the right to public access of the countryside - and 92% of land in England is still off limits to the public.

Yesterday, I called on the government to enshrine a in law.

Diane Abbott was trying to be called throughout while others spoke about her.

Lindsay Hoyle fails to call her.

Wonder if more MPs will join the 95 saying 'no confidence' in the Speaker?

I'm enormously grateful to Natalie Bennett for organising this letter to the Home Secretary, calling on the government to allow displaced Palestinians to unite with their families in Britain and for the establishment of a 'Homes for Palestinians' scheme.

BREAKING: Parliament's largest union for MPs' staff, Parliamentary Staff Branch, have passed a motion expressing alarm at the Speaker blocking a vote on a ceasefire in Gaza under the pretext of MPs' safety.

'We find this particularly grotesque considering the violence faced by Palestinians'

Labour needs to get real about taxation

Public services are starved of resources, the NHS & social care are in crisis, councils collapsing, and poverty rising

Labour's non dom policy was always inadequate. Time to get real and make the case for redistributive tax

“Many of us like to ask ourselves, ‘What would I do if I was alive during slavery? Or the Jim Crow South? Or apartheid? What would I do if my country was committing genocide?’ The answer is, you’re doing it. Right now.”

NEW: I understand the SNP could force another vote in Parliament on an immediate ceasefire in Gaza on 21 Feb.

Could be a real test for Labour MPs who have indicated a stronger stance after facing backlash from their constituents for previously refusing to vote for a ceasefire.

I share the widespread concerns regarding Everton’s treatment by the FA. This isn’t about any one club: it’s about ensuring fair treatment across the game.

This latest debacle shows why the government needs to deliver on its promise of an independent football regulator.

Today, I will be hosting the launch of Davenant 📸's Outsiders exhibition in Parliament, a powerful exploration of the homelessness crisis.

Here, Crisis's Matt Downie and Paula Barker MP explain why MPs need to confront the unseen realities of homelessness in Britain.

Behind every homelessness statistic is a human story.

In partnership with Crisis, I'm bringing Davenant 📸's Outsiders project, which bring these stories to life, into the heart of Parliament with an exhibit running from January 8th.

WOW!

Harsh words from Pope Francis on Israel's bombing of Gaza:

'This is not war. This is terrorism.'

Israel and Biden have completely lost the moral argument globally.

In 1984, at Dunnes Stores in Dublin, shop assistant Mary Manning was suspended for refusing to handle the sale of a grapefruit from apartheid South Africa.

Her colleagues ended up going on strike for three years until the Government banned the import of South African goods.

There is a Housing & Homelessness crisis across the UK. Myself & Sarah Doyle have written to the Government calling for the resources we need to deal with this emergency here in Liverpool
