Today @ScotGov presented its Programme for Government setting out its priorities for the coming parliamentary year. It is deeply disappointing that the Learning Disabilities, Autism and Neurodivergence Bill will not be introduced to parliament after two years of consultation(1/4)

“Instead, too many children and young people’s needs are not being met in our current system and this particularly impacts disabled children, children with additional support needs, Black and minority ethnic children, and care experienced children who are being routinely failed.”

Deeply disheartening news from Scottish Government. The long-awaited Human Rights Bill is vital for strengthening children's rights in Scotland. Our #RightsDetectives have worked tirelessly to shape this Bill – delaying it is a step backwards for #AllOurRights. We demand immediate action.

Glasgow teachers are struggling physically and mentally. We need answers or suggestions from Scottish Government . We can not sustain this and get it right for every child. The arguments must stop because our young people deserve better. #voteyesyes

An area of work requiring much more attention, the increased risk of sexual assault and sexual violence to children and young people with ASN is a huge cause for concern. With social media and AI parents need to be more aware of risks on internet and be aware of Article 16.

Many of our members are reporting that the cuts to teacher numbers are having a detrimental impact on their physical and mental health. This has to stop. It is not sustainable. Please use your vote to stand up for our young people and education staff in Glasgow #voteyesyes

Whole system requires redesign. It takes real honesty to admit that 20 years in, the presumption of mainstream is causing harm. Every school is an ASN school. The time to change is now before more children, young people, teachers, parents and carers get harmed.

I find this entirely unacceptable, children in dire need, teachers without permanent posts and the UNCRC becoming Law? Who is meant to deliver articles 2, 12 28 and 29? Scottish Government

How do we “change” the environment with no money, staff, control over numbers of children, lack of space, lack of parity across assessments from CAMHS etc etc etc?

The impact on parents and carers whose child or young persons needs aren’t met in school has far reaching consequences to society as a whole. Imagine for a second what impact no school would have on your ability to work? Remember Covid how devastating it was? Think on.
