With the BBC reporting the rise of larger dairy herds this morning in a ‘gotcha’ piece, it’s worth noting that the real story is the collapse of UK dairy farms due to unsustainable returns since the 90s. Those left get bigger in an effort to survive an unfair marketplace.

Farmers Guardian Alex Black So true! The disconnect between consumers and farmers is a challenge we face globally. I've seen it in my own work on soil health and sustainability. Sharing knowledge and experiences is key to addressing this gap and supporting small family farms.

Out in the Welsh mountains today with Rural Affairs Secretary Huw Irranca-Davies and farmer Clive Jones in Brecon. Discussing the realities of livestock worrying to farmers and what needs to happen to help businesses with such a terrible and devastating crime.
