Well done to all the players who battled through the rain in the Faversham Golf Club Junior Open yesterday. Our congratulations go to Tom Paterson (Boughton) off scratch who won the gross event with a 70 and Drew Love (Sittingbourne) winning the net event with a 60 off 18 handicap.

It is day 2 of competitions for Faversham Golf Club Club Captain, Phil Dott. Today it is the turn of the ladies following the juniors on Sunday. Phil, like The Lady Captain, Sheila Fullager is supporting Melanoma Fund this year.

Yesterday it was the turn of the 5 Day members to have their competition during Captain's Week Faversham Golf Club . The Captain would like to thank all those that played for their support and congratulations to the prize winners.

The final event of Captain's Week was the 7 Day members stableford competition on Saturday Faversham Golf Club. 144 members entered and were provided with gifts and refreshments from Phil Dott and over £700 was raised for Melanoma Fund. A big thank you to the members.

Today it is the 2nd event of Faversham Golf Club President, Pam Bentley's week of competitions. It is the turn of the ladies so good luck to all the players. Yesterday's competition was won by Joe Slane with a stunning 47 points, so the bar has been set!

The Ladies event of Presidents' Week Faversham Golf Club played on Tuesday was won by Jean Jeffries with 43 points, div 1 was won by Jane Garbutt with 39 points and div 2 Chrissie Stokes with 40 points. Unfortunately the OCP event was postponed. Tomorrow it is the turn of the juniors.

Daniel Smith from Faversham Golf Club is playing his first Challenge Tour event at St Mellion GC. He managed an excellent 71 on day 1 which sees him in the top half of the field. He tees off at 13.35pm today and we wish him well in making the cut. It will be a fantastic achievement.

Faversham Golf Club are very pleased to announce that Dan Smith has won his 1st event as a Professional. He led from start to finish at at the Dom Pedro Pinhal Open which is part of the Portugal Pro Tour. Let's hope this is the first of many victories. Congratulations Dan!
