River Dee impacted by pollution from construction at Inchmarlo. Mitigation measures were inadequate, a deluge of silt & sediment flowed into the Dee. Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) @Kirkwood_homes this MUST be resolved to prevent further incidents occurring!

Feargal Sharkey defra Sycophantically desperate not to upset their funding? We need more Feargal’s telling truth to power! Well done Feargal for calling this out, I hope we are not too late but I remember how polluted Thames was in the 80s and how long it too to report that fish had returned.

Truly fascinated by the replies.

The eNGOs all saying how fantastic it is, clearly over looking the desperate mess @Defra was left in, legalising the dumping of sewage, pathetic Env Act, targets, what ever did happen the chalk streams strategy etc, etc.

Hope over experience...

'Bearsted salon owner slams Southern Water for three month wait after human waste and sewage spills into business.'

Sweat the asset, drag it out as long as possible spending as little money as you possibly can. Wouldn't that be right Southern Water.

Last Nov gov passed what it called the 'World-leading Environment Act'.

So world-leading the law now requires gov to 'laid before Parliament', targets for air quality, water & biodiversity by 31st Oct.

Gov has just announced it's not going to do that 🤔

'Shame no one from Red Tractor would appear'.

Yet another so called food assurance scheme been called into question. Why the lack of transparency? Why the lack of accountability? What are they trying to hide?

I'm hearing all kinds of rumours about the hopeless Executive Director of Environment at the Environment Agency, you know the one, the guy in charge water industry & farming regulation, the one in charge of monitoring, inspections & prosecutions.

Come on EA, does he still have a job?

Am I also right in thinking that the Farming Rules for Water stem from the Water Framework Directive passed in 2000 so farmers, Defra UK, Environment Agency, Uncle Tom Cobley and all have had 22 years to help farmers 'Prepare for the future'?

22 years, still not enforced. Ho hum.
