Unless peace efforts are seriously pursued, civilians will continue to be killed, injured and displaced in northern Ethiopia. Meanwhile humanitarian workers must be able to do their work safely as they keep trying to reach Ethiopians and refugees in need of life saving support.

A privilege to present former German Chancellor Angela Merkel with the 2022 Nansen Award, for her vision, courage and fortitude in upholding the cause of refugees.

“If we do not receive at least additional $700m especially for our most underfunded operations between now and the end of this year, we will be forced to make severe cuts with negative, dramatic consequences for refugees and host communities.”

Les crises se multiplient et les défis humanitaires s’aggravent: dans ce contexte il est encourageant d’entendre Emmanuel Macron réaffirmer que la France soutient fortement les efforts pour protéger les réfugiés, aider les pays d’asile et résoudre les situations de déplacement.

Excellent entretien avec Gérald DARMANIN ce matin à Paris — la France joue un rôle clé dans la promotion de la solidarité européenne, la protection des réfugiés et leur inclusion socio-économique. Le HCR reste un partenaire engagé pour trouver des solutions justes et durables.
