There's a lot of misinformation floating around about the G4 solar storm Friday.

You do NOT need to disconnect devices from power or pull antennas inside. Modern power grids have breakers installed so it will only interrupt radio signals.

It only affects the day side of Earth.

Carrington-class storms occur once every 40 to 60 years, but the CME would have to occur while it's facing Earth.

The Space Weather Prediction Center has issued its first G4 severe geomagnetic storm watch in 2 decades for Fri night.

The last G4 storm in 2005 notably caused power outages in Sweden and damaged transformers in South Africa.

It's ironic the same people who expect a soft landing are also expecting rate cuts.
