At 11:40 p.m., California's mandate to get to "100% renewable" energy looks like blithering idiocy. Electricity demand is 32,080 megawatts, and "100% renewable" is providing 11.5% of it. Electric vehicles are charging mostly on natural gas and power generated in other states.

Ignore it if you’d like but NYT/Siena was a lot closer on the Latino vote numbers in 2020 than the Dem partisan pollsters saying ‘it’s not happening’ and those pollsters are saying it again this year.

Oh no. Martha has been a fixture in my life since 1987. Prayers to her family, especially (King) Charles. And to all those feeling pain from this loss.

Tariffs are taxes. Other countries get to impose them on US exports in retaliation. The US runs trade surpluses in aerospace, pharmaceuticals, services, technology and many ag products. These sectors would be prime targets for retaliatory tariffs, threatening millions of jobs.

The last time the US imposed across the board tariffs, in 1930, US trading partners retaliated against thousands of American products, shutting down global trade. The British also strengthened trade agreements within the empire to reduce reliance on American goods.

Do we need a funding bill for the government that clarifies that non-citizens cannot vote? Or do we need a government funding bill that — reduces spending? The issue here is that current levels of government taxation and spending mean that every year our deficit is trillions of

Raise your hand if you believe that, Kamala Harris is a “candidate of change” from the Biden-Harris administration. What a moronic idea. Own it. Run on it.

I wonder if people understand that the money from these earmarks go straight onto the national debt for our children, and grandchildren to inherit? More nurses are great, although if one believes in federalism it is hard to understand the federal government funding this sort of

All twelve of the firefighters who were on duty in my husband’s firehouse died on 9/11. The “riding list,” handwritten in chalk, listing all the men working that day, still hangs on the firehouse wall, forever preserved in glass. Engine 40 Ladder 35 #NeverForget911

I thought Trump was Trump. I thought Harris had to pass a certain bar tonight in order to keep the race competitive and I think she did that. Get ready for two more months of craziness.

It would be nice if House Republicans would start with a continuing resolution that had across the board cuts. We are overspending on everything (and I mean everything). We are adding trillions to our national debt each year. And that debt is now well over $35 TRILLION.

Nor did they bring up even once the whole situation of the aging President clearly losing his faculties to the point of having to drop out. Among other things, I read where Harris has had a standing weekly lunch with Biden. But no mention.

On federal government funding. The REPUBLICAN conference, seeing a multi-trillion dollar annual deficit, and an -over thirty five trillion dollar national debt, has a responsibility to advance a spending plan with some significant cuts (all of the way around, by the way). Of
