Congrats to Ian DeGuzman for earning the Worker of the Week award. Ian has shown tremendous dedication all season. He even worked around vacation travel plans running extra early in the morning.

One of my favorite things about XC is how the older, experienced runners help guide and mentor the younger ones. The seniors genuinely want the younger runners to enjoy the experience.

The Worker of the Week award goes to Freshman Matthew B. for his consistency and dedication all summer. He’s even gone to most of the Captain’s practices as well.

It’s been a great start to the 2024 GVXC season so far. Lots of enthusiasm and excitement from the athletes! And tomorrow we head to the Dunes for a day of running, beach fun, and bonding with teammates.

Congrats to Aidan Cook on earning Worker of the Week. His senior leadership helped guide other teammates through the runs and workouts this first week of the season. Great to have senior leaders show the way.

Beautiful night for the Corn Boil to kick off the school year and fall season!

After a long summer block of training and the first 2 weeks of practice it was time for the kids to finally lace ‘em up and test their fitness with an Intrasquad Time Trial. Beautiful morning, crisp new track and turf, and great efforts by all.

Special thanks to the Schmidt family for hosting the program family brunch today. Such a wonderful experience for everyone to get some food, relax, and connect with one another.

Boys practice cancelled today due to heat. If possible, boys should do their best to run on their own when it’s cooler in the evening, or indoors on a treadmill, or just take the day off. Be safe out there!

Trying to deal with this heat, we had a morning track workout today. It was early, but cool. Grateful and impressed by this group of boys who stepped up and made it happen.

Chilly and windy day at Settlers, and the kids raced well. Lots of PR’s and best times ever on the course. Great to see their efforts out on the course. Open boys and FS boys placed 2nd as teams! Wonderful start to the season!
