Galway City Council wishes to advise of the partial closing of Gaol Road car park, as per sketch, from today, the 17th of October. This partial closure is required in order to facilitate the assembly of the new Salmon Weir Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge.

Galway's light installation was designed by Finnish artists Timo Aho & Pekka Niittyvirta (photo below). Having previously created installations in Scotland & Miami, they've brought their vision to Irish coastal locations to highlight the risks of future sea level rise & storm surges🌊

Great opportunity to see the lights lit up in Galway this week, as high tide occurs at dusk. Artists Timo Aho & Pekka Niittyvirta designed the installation, so that the lights turn on at night, 3 hours before & after high tide.
