Tony Hawk as Larry David remains one of my all-time favorite Halloween costumes.

CANDY WARHOL

I couldn’t do makeup since we needed to incorporate a mask so a local artist made one for me with a Campbell’s Soup can to tie it all together. It was a big hit.

His line: “I’m Candy Warhol. Will paint for treats.” (delivered drolly)

EVIL GARDEN GNOME

His line: “I’m a gnomicidal manic. Gimme all your candy!!” (Another brilliant pun by David Gross.)

This was his last costume before COVID hit. We skipped the following year but came back strong in 2021.

THE MUMMY

It took over an hour to get all these bandages off.

His line: “My tomb is empty. And so is my tomb-y.” (David Gross came up with that one and it’s still my all-time favorite.)

Let’s be clear: 5pm is a late lunch, not an early dinner.
