Glad I tuned in this wet Sunday morning. Had a very small part in fact checking some of the pages of GreatBook of Ireland Well done Crónán O Doibhlin and UCC Library . It's a treasure.
Listened to Sunday Miscellany only now. Loved each single piece GreatBook of Ireland #ThomasMcCarthy #MichelleMcAdoo #DorothyCross #MatthewSweeney. Am touched by #MichaelCoady's "Are you a library?". In #Brazil on the death of #indigenous elders, they say, a whole library dies with them. RTÉ
Aosdána expresses great sadness at the passing of artist Pauline Bewick. aosdana.artscouncil.ie/general/aosdan… Picture: Don MacMonagle and Irish Examiner
We remember Pauline Bewick a #GreatBookUCC contributor and are saddened by her passing. In her GreatBook of Ireland folio opening we see her iconic style. UCC Library
So sad to hear of the death of Pauline Bewick. Her energy and spirit is found in every work. First became aware of her when, as a teenager, I adored Woman with Two Bantam Cocks. A GreatBook of Ireland encounter came next, and more recently Crawford Art Gallery’s Fourteen Steps to Nowhere.
On #WorldBookDay, President of Ireland Higgins and @presidentmt Vella viewed The Great Book of Ireland which includes poems by a poet in his late forties, one Michael D. Higgins. UCC Ireland Thanks to Tony maxwell photography for capturing this special moment yesterday.
To hear President of Ireland read his contribution to the GreatBook of Ireland during the state visit of @presidentmt UCC Alumni and Development UCC Ireland was another wonderful page in the journey of that “forever giving” book.
We remember poet Gerald Dawe, a #GreatBookUCC contributor, and are saddened by his passing. For the book his poem A Promise was paired with the artwork of Diarmuid Delargy. UCC Library
