This evening at Belfast City Council every political party apart from the DUP supported my motion calling on stronger fines for repeated agricultural pollution that are poisoning our waterways to be reinstated.

Greens, SF, Alliance, SDLP, UUP, TUV & PBP in favour. DUP against.

Pictures that are emerging of this incident are incredibly sinister. Residents will rightly want to know how this happened in a public building. We will be raising this as a matter of urgency.

Belfast had less than 2 miles of segregated cycle lanes in 2019. Still the same.
Transport powers are controlled by the Department of Infrastructure, despite some of us arguing they should be devolved like every other city our size in Western Europe.

The appetite for a returned stormont was that it would get to work quickly on addressing the multiple crises facing Northern Ireland. Over ten weeks in and the sense of urgency seems absent.

There is an escalation of attempts to harass and intimidate political reps in the republic. It's not tolerable.

Belfast City Council has agreed to my proposal to write to the Department of Infrastructure to relocate Trademarket to Bankmore Square as a temporary measure. Which will give them time to find a permanent home.

Stormont finances in a perilous state.
Yes we can attribute some of that to Tory Austerity (2010 - Now) & systemic underfunding but these Executive parties have been in power since 1998.
We have seen the waste, squander and poor governance.
Surely they bear some culpability?

The executive parties have failed to deliver, both on alleviating poverty and reconciliation.

The War on Drugs has been a public health disaster. As Greens we have long advocated for not only the need of Overdose Prevention Centres in NI, but also for reform of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Policy must be based on evidence & saving lives, not moralising over drug use.
