Here's one for Greenwings #Leptember, a butterfly from Cambodia. And I confess to an ulterior motive in posting this - I don't actually know what this butterfly is so I'm hoping someone can identify it for me. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ’š

Yay! Up to 100 followers on my new account. Only another 6000ish to go & I'll be back where I was! ๐Ÿ™ƒ Anyway, thanks to anyone who thinks I am worth cluttering their timelines with. Have a goat face on me! ๐Ÿ It's from an Oleander Hawk-moth btw.

It's #Leptember! Time to take a look at moths (aka bat snacks). Many moth species rely on native trees, shrubs & grasses in their larval stage. Planting native plants supports the bottom of the food chain & this helps all of the aerial insectivores , both birds & bats!

Womble Orchid - aka Ophrys lucis I kind of wish it was from Bulgaria so I could further the womble reference (yes Uncle Bulgaria!) but it's a local one close to home here in Rhodes, Greece. #OrchidsOfRhodes

How about some action shots for #Leptember today? Flying, feeding, fighting even! This amazing flight sequence was taken by talented photographer Andrew Fusek Peters on one of our Norfolk Broads trips & features the endemic UK race of the Swallowtail (Papilio machaon ssp. britannicus).

Good morning from a sunny & flower-filled South Africa! Next trip there in November is going to be all about the orchids, so less of the abundance of spring flowers, but special & amazing they will be in equal measure!

Strong migration of Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) this morning as picked up on a bird migration site near the coast in SW NL. 4033 Red Admirals in 4.35h, so almost 15 per minute. trektellen.org/count/view/11/โ€ฆ

With an unprecedented 20+ sightings of Oleander hawk moth caterpillars in Belgium, I couldn't resist go and see a few that were found nearby. #insectmigration #mothsmatter

The inspiration for our Greenwings name & logo came from the Green Hairstreak. It's a stunning little jewel & will always be special. But how about these 2 greenwings? Kaiser-I-Hind & Paris Peacock. Taken on our Thailand tour this year by our friend & client John K. #Leptember
