Great plenary from Steeve Comeau about #climatechange & coralline algae... TLDR: there's reason to be optimistic! Coralline algae *might* fair better than other habitat-former like corals 👍 BUT, our evidence base is way smaller... We need to level-up our efforts! #ICAM2023

Day 6 of #ICAM2023: Wonderful day on Rebbensøya (70°N!) looking at the #coralline #algae beaches, with André Freiwald as the best field guide! Modern #maerl mixed up with Holocene mussels and corallines, 4000-5000 years old! Plus lots of #urchins, who use coralline algae as hats!
