OTD in 1797 Dundee's famous naval hero, Admiral Duncan, defeated the Dutch navy at the still considered 1 of the greatest victories in the history of the Royal Navy. 213 years later HMS Duncan launched and we are so very proud to be her affiliate SCC Unit.

1797 Admiral Adam Duncan defeated the Dutch at the Battle of Camperdown. Royal Navy ship
HMS Lancaster still carries the battle honour. 213 years later in 2010 the T45 Destroyer named in his honour HMS Duncan was launched on the Clyde.

sailors will have the honour of pulling the State Ceremonial Gun Carriage bearing HM The Queen’s coffin on Monday, a duty they have performed since the funeral of Queen Victoria in 1901.
