First year AA students left alone with patients unsupervised?

That stands out amongst a deeply concerning list.

If you have a non-prescriber (of any flavour) on a doctors rota, one of the doctors ends up having to pick up the prescribing (and the associated risk)

This will often be an FY1 or FY2, getting paid less than the non-prescriber for whom they’re absorbing risk

They make us rotate. Then they give away our training opportunities to permanent staff.

On call commitments are weaponised against us. We're punished for our versatility, relegated to rota fodder.

Don’t agree with comparing women entering the profession vs expansion of MAPs in UK

Objections to women entering medicine were centred round their basic inability to think rationally (rationality a big deal in the Enlightment) and their inherent physical/mental fragility 1/

.The Labour Party pledges 2m extra NHS appointments a year.

But no announcement to increase specialty training places for doctors and no solution to ongoing industrial action.

The frustration which we feel when we do must and may feel like personal attacks and I imagine are very demoralising

Mamas A. Mamas In the US, physician assistants and nurse practioners often take on the less “educational” aspects of hospital care so that our trainees can focus more on training or the faculty can do the cognitive work that benefits from their expertise. Why can’t it be like that in the UK?

“Just two years to be anything,... They can give anaesthetics, they can do operations, they look after psychiatric patients, they can be GPs, they can treat your heart. It’s not what I personally would want as a patient.”

In it’s current guise the gov’s work force plan is a disaster & and as a consultant I feel compelled to raise a 🚩

The rapid expansion of anaesthesia associates within the NHS is likely to have severe consequences for patient safety and training

Solidarity with BMA SAS Doctors.

An essential and growing part of the medical workforce.

A third group of doctors in England joining Junior Doctors and BMA Consultants?

It must be a terrifying thought for Rishi Sunak who’s government has completely lost control of the NHS.
