Matt Rhule definitely happy about the passing of the in-helmet communication rule. #Huskers have been using it all spring. Even some last year, hoping it would pass then.

Blye Hill received kudos from T White. And on Saturday, speaking of the CBs, Rhule said, 'You've got a lot of guys fighting for the job, and kind of like the quarterbacks, that will go all the way to the season. But right now if we played today, I think it'd be Hill and Hill.'

Nice nod from Rhule to the media attention around #Huskers football here. 'I mean this sincerely, 'You're going to get covered here.' Sometimes kids will say, 'I'm thinking about this (other place).' Go play in front of 25,000 people and play in obscurity.'

Pointed to how often

Matt Rhule said the Huskers have to get about 8 percent better on third-down defense to be in that elite company. Where he really wants to be dominant is on third-and-7 and beyond with a pass rush that basically makes team concede to checkdowns and such.

'I just want to take a step in being more of a complete receiver,' Jaylen Lloyd of the next step for him. 'I'd say last year I was a little raw — just a speed guy. I want to work on my route running more and my catching.'

NCAA approves helmet communications for 2024 season. For games pairing FBS teams, each squad has option to use coach-to-player helmet communications for one player on the field -- designated with a green dot on his helmet. 2-minute timeout also approved.
