Fun 8k run this morning through both sides of the beautiful old city of Nicosia to mark #InternationalDayOfPeace with colleagues from UK in Cyprus. Thanks to UNDP Cyprus, European Union In Sudan and Runite for organising.

Great evening with the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot Mayors of Famagusta marking #InternationalPeaceDay in their hometown to promote intercommunal engagement and unity. As a friend of🇨🇾, 🇬🇧will continue to support a culture of unity and peace between the two communities.

British High Commissioner to Cyprus Irfan Siddiq says people in Sudan have been asked 'to make their own way' to an airfield near Khartoum for evacuation.

He says people have been able to make the journey and he expects 'a lot more to come today'.

Support from the Republic of Cyprus Government for the evacuation of Brits from Sudan has been exceptional. Fantastic testament to the strength of the UK-Cyprus relationship.

Due to escalating threats against foreign diplomats, the UK has evacuated embassy staff from Sudan.

Our top priority remains the safety of British nationals.

We are working around the clock to broker international support to end the bloodshed in Sudan.

Good to meet with Minister of Finance Makis Keravnos this morning. Discussed strength of UK-Cyprus relations and co-operation in sanctions implementation and tackling illicit finance.

I kicked off the UK in Cyprus roadshow in Famagusta today, with a meeting with the Turkish Cypriot Mayor, Dr Süleyman Uluçay. We had the opportunity to discuss bilateral ties and developments in the city.

Very pleased to meet with His Holiness Archbishop Georgios III today to congratulate him on his appointment. Discussed the importance of a Cyprus Settlement, the historic role and responsibilities of the UK and the strong links between our two nations.
