We end on a sad note tonight. Yesterday, the ‘sixth member’ of Genesis, Richard MacPhail passed away. Richard was lead vocalist for the Anon, alongside Anthony Phillips and Mike Rutherford. He became tour manager for Genesis from 1968-73 and again in 1976. Rest easy fella.

Sorry that Danny Kinahan has resigned as Veterans Commissioner for Northern Ireland. Danny has been a great champion for NI Veterans, whom we owe so much. Before the election, we were working constructively together over the future of the office, so it is sad that he has felt compelled to take this step.

🔴 Pausing the NI City Deals is very bad - it will damage confidence, hit investment and reverse progress ❌ Parliament should have been informed about this before recess - quite wrong for it to become public day after House rose #shadownorthernireland bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

As a minister, I was involved in developing the city region growth deals working with NI Executive ministers and local authorities. This is a deplorable decision by Northern Ireland Office and will be deeply damaging to NI. To push this out when the Commons is in recess is disgusting behaviour.

🔵 Entirely agree with the Leaders of the five largest Northern Ireland parties ❌ The decision to pause the Causeway Coast & Glens and Mid South West Growth Deals is wrong and will damage confidence ❌ Govt must answer Qs in Parlt straight after recess #ShadowNorthernIreland
