Today for BBC Derby I went to Buxton to meet Mark and Melissa at Tin Man Scrap Metal♻. It’s National Upcycle Day and these scrap yard reclaimers Upcycled their wedding! They only spent £6500, saving themselves nearly £20k.

Today for BBC Derby I was in Ilkeston talking to locals about their mini-roundabout which has gone viral during the Euros! The red cross was painted by a mystery person after England's 1-0 win over Serbia. A BBC social post about it has now been seen by over 4 million people.

Today for BBC Derby I was live in Burton as artists finish decorating 14 huge barrels as part of an East Staffs art trail! Making Trails are running the Burton Barrel Roll next month in the town. Lynne is one of the artists taking part, she’s painting hers as biscuit barrel!

Today for BBC Derby - I went to see an iconic tow truck from Albert Loom's Spondon scrapyard which is going on show at Great British Car Journey in Ambergate. Richard from Great British Car Journey took me for a spin in the 90's Land Rover tow truck!

Derbyshire Dales has gone to Labour - John Whitby elected as the new MP. He’s overturned the largest Tory majority in Derbyshire. He won by just over 300 votes. It’s the first time this part of the county hasn’t been held by a conservative.

I’m home after 12hrs which saw Labour turn Derbyshire red. Every constituency in the county is now held by a Labour MP. I’m now having a pint after being up since 3pm yesterday. The headline story of the night was John Whitby overturning the largest Tory majority in the county.

Today for BBC Derby I was out in Morley with apiarist Linda.   According to BBKA it's been a tough year for bees. Lots of rain & cold temps saw them stay in hives longer than usual and there are less plants growing in our fields to keep them fed.

Today for BBC Derby I was live from Derby Museum in the city centre as Derby Museums unveil their new exhibition “Displaced: From the Nile to the Derwent”. Tony took me through the collection which explains how these artefacts made their way from North Africa to Derbyshire!

Today for BBC Derby I’ve met 26 y/o Pip, an on call firefighter from Swadlincote who’s doing a 31mile ultra marathon, wearing fire kit & watching back to back episodes of Fireman Sam. It's to raise cash for the firefighters charity who helped her partner after an injury in ‘22.
