#NotonOurLough m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-…
Our NGO members Friends of the Earth NI are asking for two minutes of your time to stop fossil fuel extraction in NI.
The consultation on the set of rules that govern how oil and gas companies extract onshore closes this Friday 12 April 🖊️
⚖️Legal 'herstory' was made this week!⚖️
*This* is why #ClimateJustice is a strategic priority for The PILS Project.
Sign up for next Wednesday's #CPD session to talk about NI's climate legislation in light of the ground-breaking #KlimaSeniorinnen case.

We intervened in a mineral licenses case that's in court this week. This is about the granting of three mineral prospecting licenses by the Department Economy NI Covering approximately 743km² with much of it falling within Derry Strabane Cncl catchment 👇

The Northern Ireland Assembly is debating household water charges today. We know Northern Ireland Water is underfunded and needs almost £2b to improve its infrastructure... meanwhile houses can't be built & waterways suffer. Hopefully MLAs and John O' Dowd can find a better way ahead

Northern Ireland is now subject to a legally binding Net Zero target under the NI #ClimateChangeAct - it would have been advisable for the Minister to 'call in' this planning application on environmental grounds
✅️NI has committed to #NetZero by 2050.
‼️The Northern Ireland Assembly declared a #ClimateEmergency four years ago.
... and yet, the oil terminal at #CloghanPoint is being *expanded*.
Stop Whitehead Oil Terminal have called this 'shocking'. Finn Purdy has the story ⤵️
There are so many ways in which a major new fossil fuel terminal in Northern Ireland (at Cloghan Point) will have regional and sub-regional impacts. So why didn’t you call it in John O' Dowd ?
Joined #SaveLoughNeagh campaigners at the AE Russell Festival in Lurgan today. AE was a poet and environmentalist born on the south shores, and the Lough inspired his work greatly. We must fight to protect it and remove it from the hands of aristocrats and greedy profiteers.
To meet climate change targets, N Ireland needs to move rapidly away from fossil fuel use. Yet John O' Dowd of Department for Infrastructure has decided that creating a major new oil terminal at Whitehead has no regional or sub-regional significance. #GreenEnergyNow
