On this day 90 years ago, continuing in the footsteps of James Connolly, Irish Republican and Trade Union leader, Mike Quill, founded the Transport Workers Union of America.

Jim Larkin was a fiery & charismatic trade union leader who organised workers in Belfast & Dublin in the early 20th century. A founder of the Irish Transport and General Workers Union he led the 1913 Dublin Lockout along with Connolly.
