I don't look at the LR forum, but someone sent me this. For those who find this sort of thing interesting, Renato Canova has posted the 16 week programme, in great detail, that Emile Cairess followed in the run up to London:

One of my favourite photos from the weekend. She'd only just finished racing, but Laura Muir was kind with her time to make some young people's days at podium 5k road race πŸ€—

Impressive 2:02.60 for Shaikira King at British Milers' Club yesterday in Gillingham. Mixed gender race, but fastest ever by a πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ 15-year-old. Moves to third on the U17 all-time list behind Phoebe Gill (2023) and Jo White (1977).

Rose Harvey raced yesterday for the first time since her 2:23:21 at the Chicago Marathon in October. 71:59 at the Nice Half Marathon. Does that show current form, the day before the Olympic marathon selection meeting? πŸ‘€One spot available, six women have the Q.

One DNF was Daniel Do Nascimento - who ended in hospital. Fell at 16k onto his shoulder, carried on for 10k at a slower pace but had to stop.
Corrida no Ar says will have an MRI in Brazil but sounds like nothing serious.

So many questions from the London Marathon. Was there a vortex in the tunnel at Blackfriars that swallowed half the elite men's field? Mengesha, Tola, Wolde, Haso & Gebresilase all passed me (in that order) at 22 miles but didn't finish. Emile was eighth at that point!

Fun day ahead. Looking forward to a bit of πŸ“Έ and πŸƒπŸ» around the course.
Other than the closed edition in COVID, I've been at the London Marathon since 2005, either running the Mini Marathon / main thing, cheering from the sides or from the lead vehicle.
