This year, we’re getting paid. We’re advocating for pay transparency and for increased rates. We’re celebrating new talent and lifting up up those coming behind us. And we’re leaving gatekeeping in the past.

I often see newer photographer ask, 'I'm new to photography, should I charge for my photos?'

Unequivocally yes. Lack of experience has no bearing on the value of images. When someone wants your images, that's literally the moment they have external value.

Most of the time, there's no single big break moment that defines a career. It's a few wins shuffled in with a lot of loses. What's often most important is celebrating those wins and breaks that come your way, no matter how big or small.
