The EU is the largest provider of external assistance to the Palestinians.

We are disbursing €41 million to the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA to support the payment of salaries and pensions, and to provide basic services such as health and education to Palestinian refugees.

The 53rd 🇪🇺 humanitarian air bridge flight has departed for Al Arish, delivering over 38 tonnes of vital health supplies for Palestinians in #Gaza .

We are making the delivery of these essential items possible together with World Health Organization (WHO), UNFPA, and International Medical Corps.

Next week, the EU civil protection community from all over the EU and beyond will gather at the #CPForum2024 in Brussels to exchange views on how to further improve #EUCivilProtection joint action.

In response to the devastating landslide in #PapuaNewGuinea , the EU is releasing €150 000 for immediate emergency assistance to the most affected communities.

Our humanitarian partners are already on the ground.

We are looking at further support.

At  #SyriaConf2024  the 🌍 community proved again that the people in Syria, Syrian refugees and their hosting communities are not forgotten.

In support, we we have raised a total €7.5 B (€5 B in grants and €2.5 B in loans).

The EU & MS together pledged 3/4 of the total grants.

With 🇱🇧 MFA Abdallah Bou Habib on the sidelines of #SyriaConf2024  about impacts of multiple crises in the Middle East, especially on most vulnerable, and the continued support by the EU for the people in  #Lebanon - Syrian refugees as well as most vulnerable Lebanese.

I take note of #ICJ 's decision ordering 🇮🇱 to halt military operations in Rafah and to open the Rafah crossing for humanitarian aid and basic services.

ICJ's orders are binding on the Parties and they must comply with them.

I expect their full and immediate implementation.

It was a pleasure to meet 🇳🇴's new Health Minister Jan Christian Vestre and discuss furthering of excellent and close cooperation between EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺 & Norway in the #EUCivilProtectionMechanism and humanitarian aid, most currently on ways to assist most vulnerable in #Ukraine and in #Gaza .
