Field work today at Muzzi Marsh, SF Bay, for our project on vegetation, #bluecarbon, and elevation capital in west coast mature tidal #wetland #restoration sites. A pair of coyotes were in the marsh!

Was so stoked to find salt marsh bird’s beak, Chloropyron maritimum, in fairly high abundance at a Marin Co, San Francisco Bay #marsh today! This usually uncommon hemiparasite was even in a few random veg survey plots.

Well-developed mats of Vaucheria in a Coos Bay salt #marsh. Vaucheria is a “yellow-green alga”, a class of Heterokontophyta, but the name is odd for this genus which can have very dark green thalli. #phycologyfriday

Loved working in #Carpinteria #marsh today! Saw a leopard shark, sting rays, crabs, and of course cool salt marsh plants including bird’s beak (#Chloropyron maritimum)!
