The West Warwick Library is hosting West Warwick’s first ever Pride festival today! 12-4 family fun, ice cream & story time - I’ll be reading SOMETHING GREAT for the first time & signing NO VOICE TOO SMALL also hanging out with We Are ALL Readers making pride bracelets and talking books!

Last but certianly not least! #QueerKidlit PB mentor Lee Wind writes the books that would have changed his life as a young gay kid. He has published across the kidlit age range from YA novel QUEER AS A FIVE-DOLLAR BILL to picture book RED AND GREEN AND BLUE AND WHITE. 15/15

#QueerKidlit illustration mentor Elizabeth Lilly 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 is an author, illustrator, animator and educator. She is author/illustrator of GERALDINE and LET ME FIX YOU A PLATE. Elizabeth also teaches illustration at Towson University. 14/15

#QueerKidlit PB mentor Megan Dowd Lambert believes everyone’s story is worth telling. Her picture books include A Crow of His Own and Real Sisters Pretend. She’s also the author of the series Every Day with April & Mae, & developer of the whole book approach to storytime 13/15

#QueerKidlit MG mentor Robin Stevenson is the author of 30 books for young readers, ranging from PB to MG to YA, and including both fiction and non-fiction. Her book PRIDE won a Stonewall Honor, and MY BODY MY CHOICE won the Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize 12/15

#QueerKidlit YA mentor Adib Khorram is on hiatus (in Italy!) is a queer Iranian-American. His books have won awards including the William C. Morris Award, Asian Pacific- American Award for Literature, Boston Globe–Horn Book Honor, Stonewall Honor, and one of TIME’s 100 Best YA Books of All Time. 11/15

#QueerKidlit YA mentor Rebecca Kim Wells - On Hiatus writes books full of magic and fury (and often dragons). Her debut novel Shatter the Sky was a New England Book Award finalist, a Bisexual Book Award winner. She is also the author of Storm the Earth and Briar Girls. 10/15
