Damn it, I had a tenner on Donald Trump coming out and saying he accepted the verdict and leaving with dignity.

Imagine any politician in the UK coming out of their trial and saying the judge was conflicted and biased.

Genuinely incredible that a convicted felon will likely be on the ballot paper for leader of the Free World in November. #trump

The ability of news reporters to sum up a moment in history while someone shouts GUILTY ON COUNT 23 in their ear is incredible.

Tough to argue this one.

All undoubtedly factors, of course, but I could never understand the paper taking such a strong (and often contrarian) political stance. Standard had an opportunity to be a unifying force for Londoners but failed.

It beats watching EastEnders and playing charades, I guess.

A side note, but there is a discussion to be had about giving prisoners the vote (at least those being released within five years). We want them to be reintegrated into society, and voting is one key way.

Teenagers did their national service by staying in for two years protecting the vulnerable. We should be thanking them, not conscripting them.

As so often, the heroes of the #postofficeinquiry are the victims who sat this week in respectful silence listening to a woman who did nothing to end their suffering. Dignified, remarkable people.
