New path surface on the Strathkelvin Railway Path😎
The section between Lennoxtown and Kirkintilloch has now fully reopened and a silky smooth surface awaits!

Good news, the previously planned diversion on the walking route in section 2 (Merkins Forest) is no longer required - access may be managed during operations but the path will be open. 😊

**Route closure update - section 3, Lennoxtown - Kirkintilloch**
The path resurfacing of the Strathkelvin Railway Path has been partially completed, meaning the route between Milton of Campsie and Kirkintilloch will reopen on 26th August.

Important news for anyone planning a journey on section 3 of the John Muir Way. 4.5km of the Strathkelvin Railway Path will be closed for upgrades for 5-6 weeks from Monday.

Forestry works and maintenance are affecting a couple of areas of the John Muir Way. Section 2 (walking route) is closed for 11 weeks at Merkins Forest and Section 3 has work planned for next week (but is open).

If heading out on the walking route in section 2 (via Burncrooks Reservoir) please note there are closure signs in place due to forestry works.
We'll update the trail status when we have more info. The waymarked cycle route can be used meantime.
