You can now read my flash story "The Impermanent Surface of Lake Scintillate" in Orion's Belt!! ✨ About a special lake the neighborhood children dance on, that is also a metaphor for social media 😶‍🌫️

Reminder! Get your novelette pitches & manuscripts ready for the open call starting next week Monday. Horror and Weird fiction stories. Original only, no reprints. Looking to get 4 stories to fill the two volumes for 2025.

Tonight’s viewing treat (no, I won’t rewatch ALL the episodes tonight)! First aired in syndication in 1987 and lasted 3 seasons. Influenced many of my favorite TV shows. Has nothing to do with the movies but is considered part of the franchise. It’s a blast. #fridaythethirteenth

#Spectember Day 16 - after writing 30 pages of this comedy feature, I stepped away from it last week because I felt it was a novella. As of this morning, I was wrong. It’s a movie. And it’s lots of fun. Wrote pp. 31–35 today.

Last night, a friend was browsing my shelves* when they lobbed these two at me and said, "There's five bucks in my pocket says you can't write a mashup of these." I am now five bucks richer (with new script outline). Never underestimate the power of a hack. * not a euphemism

Bravo Criterion Channel for the inclusion of made-for-TV movies; I'd love to see more restored and programmed - I could curate (what I think are) excellent made-for-TV movies of the 1970s (with some phenomenal stories and star performances).

#Spectember Day 18: The double-header announcement of the Lionsgate/Runway AI partnership and YouTube's integration of generative AI video tools has forced me to rethink my life, skills, goals, and worth. I've put my scripts and stories on hold until I can think this through.

Hivemind: Could anyone give me examples of "cozy fantasy" and "romantasy" novels/stories? And is there such a niche genre as "cozy sci-fi"?
