this seems like a very good thing. The tight integration w biketown will help system work better. I know some folks hate these scooters, but i think they're pretty useful and seem like a great option for lots of folks.

Can't wait to share more about Ground Score Association. This small but mighty nonprofit is doing really cool stuff with bikes and eco-friendly waste management in Portland. video/story coming soon

PBOT says it's a "soft launch" and between these new BIKETOWNpdx Lyft e-scooters and ones from Lime, there will be around 3,000 scooters on the streets in the coming weeks bikeportland.org/2024/07/25/bik…

In the Shed recording sesh is going to be fun today... we'll have Taylor Griggs back for her first visit to BikePortland since being hired away by the Mercury. 😁🤣

Hope you like e-scooters, because thousands more of them — including new BIKETOWNpdx-branded models — are hitting the streets right now bikeportland.org/2024/07/25/bik…

If my calculations are correct, Oregon has had 23% FEWER traffic deaths statewide in the first 7 months of the year: 2023 YTD - 347 fatalities 2024 YTD - 268 fatalities

These mark a lot of boxes for 💯 bike parking: covered, ample quantity, right up front (for security), staple (best design). Spacing looks a bit crowded for larger cargo bikes. Always good idea to have an oversized bike section w larger spacing. Overall this looks fantastic.

In hindsight, PBOT would rather save up $$ to fix these locations for good w permanent infra that doesn't require maintenance.

I relish opportunities to talk about bikes outside our choir and reach new ears. From 2017 but unfortunately (just like I said would happen!), folks still say this "bikers don't pay" stuff.

I hate leaving town. I also love leaving town. This is one of two separate family trips in the coming 5 weeks just FYI FWIW. Running a business solo is great until you need a vacay. 🤣😲

What's happening here seems to be a normalization of very dangerous and illegal behavior that likely won't get better as long as local officials remain silent and path infrastructure makes it possible.

I am finally seriously considering leaving this platform and moving to Threads. Such a bummer that Musk is screwing up what was/could have been an amazing tool. So if this account and my BikePortland account go quiet you'll know why.
