The African Caribbean Society had the pleasure of welcoming British television and radio presenter Angellica Bell to celebrate Black History Month with them.
She spoke about inspiring women in her life and being a minority in school and in her career. Thank you Angellica.

Ex-professional footballers Ryan Watts, Darius Charles and Craig Mackail-Smith came to King’s yesterday to coach members of our U13 ISFA and senior team.

Thank you to all three for honing the skills of the pupils that should stand them in good stead for the fixtures ahead.

As part of our new sixth form partnership with King’s College School, 30 of our HAWI6 students will be leading projects together. On Friday our students had their first session, leading book clubs, football coaching and preparing for the Community Production.

The entire company approached the work superbly, absorbing the historical perspective, and contemporary relevance, taking on board challenging artistic direction, working together in a truly collaborative spirit.

Dr Tibenderana spoke to pupils on the topic 'The biology of malaria transmission - how knowledge is transforming progress towards a malaria-free world'.

We welcomed acclaimed author, Bali Rai to King’s this week as we launched this year’s ‘Writer in Residence’ programme for our Y8. Mr Rai kicked off the day with a really inspiring workshop that focused on identity and how pupils might approach creating characters.

It was great to have Roman Kemp and Dr Ama Colinson with us for the #charterSLC2023 at King’s. This fantastic conference, hosted in partnership with Wimbledon High School as part of the Wimbledon Charter, was focused on young people’s mental health and featured 19 local schools.

On Friday both the winners and those that were highly commended in the King's Essay competition met, for a relaxed event to celebrate. Senior members of staff, supervisors and tutors joined them to engage in debate, fuelled by plenty of biscuits and doughnuts!

We were delighted to welcome representatives from American Universities to our annual International Universities Fair. The fair gives pupils in Senior School, especially those in Sixth Form, a chance to explore the many opportunities waiting for them in the world beyond King’s.

Earlier this week we celebrated Day of Languages. From pupil-led language taster sessions in Portuguese, German, Italian and Swedish and a Year 8 flashmob performance to delicious European cuisine and an evening of entertainment, the whole day was a whirlwind of fun.

We can’t wait to welcome pupil-leaders from around 20 schools across the independent and maintained sector to our Charter Leadership Conference next week. It’s great to be working with our Charter partners at Wimbledon High School on this the second annual conference.

It was fantastic to welcome over 1,500 visitors to King’s for Open Morning last Saturday. For entry at 16+, these are the next events: Thursday 21st September, 5:30pm - 16+ open evening Thursday 5th October, 5:30pm - 16+ open evening All are welcome, there is no need to book.

This week the Great Hall was packed with pupils, checking out the myriad of co-curricular options available to them as part of our Mind, Heart and Spirit programme which enables them to flourish and excel in the classroom and beyond.

This Saturday is our whole School Open Morning.

The Beginning of Term Service at Sacred Heart Church featured stunning choral performances. The Coro choirs and the King’s 9 helped make this a really special event, as pupils were welcomed back to school with words from the School Captains, the Chaplain and the Head.
