If a recruit has his parents or HS coaches or both helping with the recruiting process that’s an added bounce. But the recruit should be LEADING the process.

Most recruits and their families spend a lot of money to make the drives or take a plane to certain Schools. There is a lot of work leading up to what everyone will later see in the fall which is recruits posting their commitment letters and photos of their visit.

Coach attitude and character as hard as you coach anything else. It’s all under the control of the coach. Their talent level is given. Talent can win you games, but character and attitude win championships.

This might help a recruit understand the process. If you’re dominating your HS division, that doesn’t mean you’re an elite DI recruit. Your competition shouldn’t hold you back, but it matters. Going to prospect camps/showcases to compete against other elite recruits will help.
