Culture doesn’t carry over from one season to the next. That’s accidental leadership. Culture is created daily. Show up intentionally.

Consistency > Complacency

When being comfortable drives your decisions, you’ll never grow or make an impact. You’ll settle for average.

Be willing to fail, to be vulnerable, to risk, to change things. It’s the only way you’ll make a difference.

May your purpose be bigger than your desire for comfort.

Weak teammates worry about what they can get from the team.

Great teammates focus on what they give to the team.

When someone holds you accountable, thank them. They’re helping you get better and preventing you from doing things that undermine your influence and your performance. If they speak the truth, it’s because they care.

Humility is the key.

Too many want to hear and embrace excuses that enable their unhealthy mindset. They take the conviction of truth and challenge as shame and judgement. They are resistant instead of responsive.

Be willing to hear the truth. Get better, not defensive.

Humility always.

Be the leader you would want to have.
Be the teammate you would want to have.

Own the way you show up. Own your impact.

Launched my first business 12 years ago today. What followed was two years of failure and frustration, but also lessons, skills and mindset that I needed to learn.

Without those two years, I couldn't have had the last 10.

Grateful for all of it. Keep showing up.

Worry leads to a negative mindset and negative actions. Ultimately, it’s self-sabotage. It’s wasted energy.

Belief leads to a positive mindset, which leads to positive actions and positive outcomes.

Own your mindset. Live and lead with hope.

Leaders set the tone.

“Habits are born out of choices. Choices that, over time, become second nature. Choices that change who we were into who we will be. Today’s habit becomes tomorrow’s reality. If we want new results, we must make new choices.” - Kevin DeShazo

You can wait to feel confident or you can choose confidence.
You can act based on feelings or act based on standards.
You can let adversity break you or build you.
You can focus on what you can't control or what you do control.

How you show up is a choice. Own your mindset.

Distractions are the enemy of connection, of commitment, of progress, of culture.

Ignore the noise. Ignore the critics. Ignore what the crowd is angry about today. Focus on what matters.

Stay on the path.
