This awe kept Herrera creating abstract paintings & sculptures for over 70 years. The artist passed away 2 years ago today at age 106, just one day before her 'Estructura Verde' closed on the Smidt Welcome Plaza.

Hunter, a folk artist from Louisiana, is regarded as one of the most well-known self-taught artists. Working from memory, she depicted Black Southern life, producing +5,000 works in her lifetime.

Klimt passed away #onthisday in 1918. From 1900 onward he became famous as a 'painter of women,' creating about 1 large-format portrait of a woman per year.
