In 1924 on #ThisDayInHistory , the Indian Citizenship Act, an all-inclusive act, was signed by President Calvin Coolidge. The privileges of citizenship, however, were largely governed by the state, and the right to vote was often denied to Native Americans as late as the 1940s.
