There must be accountability and criminal charges for all those responsible. And there must be a transformation in housing, not just to prevent another Grenfell but to sweep away the scourge of greed and profiteering and replace it with the public good.

Successive governments have disregarded fire safety. That came in the form of failing to properly regulate and cuts to fire services. Today’s report has shown that construction companies have endangered lives and government has failed to protect residents.

If you can only apply online for public services like the blue badge it will inevitably exclude some people who are entitled to them.
