As the Chairperson of the Tourism Committee, I want to welcome everyone attending the Illinois State Fair. The State Fair brings nearly 500,000 people and an estimated $86 million into the Illinois economy every year. #IllinoisStateFair2022

As an educator, I loved seeing the passion my students brought to the classroom every day. For international Youth Day, I want to highlight the great work youth in our community do. Comment with an organization that helps our youth reach their full potential.

2/ This year, as students go back to school, I would like to remind all my constituents that the Illinois sales tax holiday on school supplies and clothing will start August 5 and continue through August 14.

1/ As an educator, I understand the importance of making sure kids have all the tools they need to be successful. I remember my mom buying back to school supplies every year for me and her students. I know that is where I get my sense of giving from.

3/3 Today, I’m honored to serve in the General Assembly where Barack Obama began his career in public service.

2/ On his birthday, I would like to wish Barack a Happy Birthday. As the first African American to hold the office of President, Barack Obama created landmark policy changes and served as a role model for all Americans.

1/ I was honored and overjoyed when I had the opportunity to attend Barack Obama's historic inauguration. Looking back on this picture from the day, I see the joy and hope he inspired in me and so many others.

Starting next week, Illinois will be having a 10-day sales tax holiday for school supplies. We’re committed to putting working families first and doing our part to provide much-needed relief.
