Just had 2 Common Tern bizarrely flying around calling over the carpark at the Ellesmere shopping centre in Walkden. Presumably from Blackleach Reservoir?? phil rhodes
Not what I was expecting in the middle of June. Drake Ring-necked duck at Seaforth this evening keeping the Tufties company. BirdGuides
Not happy until weโve had our first Roseate Tern of the year at Seaforth. And after us crying one in all weekend Tony Conway โ๏ธ hit gold on his work break this morning. Still there this evening and aggressively attacking anything that moved around it. #RosyBalboa๐ฅ
Seaforth tern colony is thriving this year after last summers disaster, juvs everywhere. Weโve also had at least 5 of this years juvs from up at RSPB Hodbarrow. Another blue ringed bird tonight. Also a feisty 1sts Arctic tern bullying the Commons. ๐๐ปRachelle Regan
#CommonTern 2.26 ringed as a chick RSPB Saltholme in 2021 now breeding #Seaforth. Others from Anglesey Skerries & Dublin plus multiple juveniles from RSPB England #Hodbarrow. Nomads. Love them & proud to be playing a part in helping them thrive ๐ #RSPBEcology Rachelle Regan
No hoped for Black Tern at Seaforth tonight. But great to finally get our first juv Common Tern from West Midlands Ringing Group Been keeping an eye out for one the last few weeks. Itโs been a belting summer for colour rings with lots of juvs from RSPB Hodbarrow and a few from Conder Green. ๐๐ป
