Birding was far from my thoughts this morning but the rain brought a scattering of migrants including a Brambling and this absolute corker of a Hawfinch. Really smart bird, only the second one I’ve seen here at Gibraltar Point this year. LWT Wild News Lincsbirding InstaBirders

After missing some fly-overs last year, it was a nice treat to get Spoonbill on the patch year list this afternoon. It started at Elm House Farm before being spooked by a Marsh Harrier and hopping over to Sea View washlands RareBirdAlertUK

There aren't loads of Wagtails around locally, so this male Blue-headed Wagtail was slightly unexpected this afternoon. Seen at Elm House Farm on scrapes near the bird hide RareBirdAlertUK

The Black Tern and Little Gulls continue to show well outside the cafe. The (NGCI) chocolate brownies are well worth checking out too, according to Chris our Visitor Experience Manager!

Away from the glories of RSPB Frampton Marsh 🌍 south Lincs has other sites, such as Deeping Lakes LWT, where two Spoonbills (one partially hidden here) and the long-staying Glossy Ibis briefly fed side-by-side on the east pit, this monring. Lincsbirding Will Bowell

Fascinating to see this photo from Paul Sullivan of a Moorhen at tackling something larger and meatier than usual, and eating a Smooth Newt!
You can also see today's sightings, and a reminder of upcoming path closures at the reserve starting Monday.
