Birding was far from my thoughts this morning but the rain brought a scattering of migrants including a Brambling and this absolute corker of a Hawfinch. Really smart bird, only the second one Iβve seen here at Gibraltar Point this year. LWT Wild News Lincsbirding InstaBirders

After missing some fly-overs last year, it was a nice treat to get Spoonbill on the patch year list this afternoon. It started at Elm House Farm before being spooked by a Marsh Harrier and hopping over to Sea View washlands RareBirdAlertUK
There aren't loads of Wagtails around locally, so this male Blue-headed Wagtail was slightly unexpected this afternoon. Seen at Elm House Farm on scrapes near the bird hide RareBirdAlertUK

The Black Tern and Little Gulls continue to show well outside the #RSPBFrampton cafe. The (NGCI) chocolate brownies are well worth checking out too, according to Chris our Visitor Experience Manager!

An embarrassment of riches today RSPB Frampton Marsh π hard to know where to start. Near the top of the list was this 2nd cy Little Gull
Farmland BBS for Dyson Farming at Roxholme, Lincs (5th year monitoring this 1km SQ); just 16 species in this SQ but packed with BOCC RED species including 9 singing Corn Buntings, 25 Linnets, 48 (!) singing Skylarks, Grey Partridge, Yellowhammer and 2 Schedule 1 breeding species.
First farmland BBS of the year with walkover surveys Dyson Farming Bonby Carrs, lots of water with lapwing, redshank and snipe all recorded. Good numbers of Brown Hare and Roe Deer. Also, a few winter species still hanging on with c.10 Wigeon and 30+ Fieldfare still present...
